Stronger Together: Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs on International Women's Day
Every year on March 8th, we celebrate International Women's Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements, strength, and resilience of women worldwide.
As a community of boutique owners and small business entrepreneurs—many of whom are women—we understand firsthand the power of supporting each other. When women come together, we create opportunities, lift each other up, and break barriers that once seemed unmovable.
But let’s not forget why International Women’s Day exists. It’s more than just a celebration—it’s a reminder of the progress we’ve made and the work still to be done. Women have fought for their rights in business, politics, education, and beyond.
Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: The Silent Struggle of Even the Most Confident Women
Recently, a close friend of mine—who holds a high-level position in finance—opened up about her struggles with imposter syndrome. Now, if you met her, you’d think she has it all figured out. She’s direct, outspoken, and commands attention in any room. But when it comes to her work, she shared with me in confidence that she constantly questions herself, wondering if she truly deserves her success or if she’s just been “lucky.”
Sound familiar?
Imposter syndrome is something many of us battle, especially as women in business. It creeps in when we compare ourselves to others, when we doubt our own expertise, or when we’re faced with the ever-changing landscape of entrepreneurship. But here’s the truth: You are capable, and you are enough. Your success isn’t by chance—it’s because of your hard work, dedication, and resilience.
A Mindset Shift: The Key to Confidence in Business
If you’ve ever struggled with imposter syndrome, here’s a mindset shift that can help (I'm not making this up but I've personally been coached on it by those who's shoulders I stand on:
👉 Reframe Self-Doubt as Growth: Instead of thinking, “I don’t belong here,” shift your mindset to “I am constantly learning and evolving.” The best entrepreneurs aren’t those who know everything—they’re the ones who stay open to growth.
👉 Celebrate Small Wins: Women often downplay their successes. Keep a ‘win’ journal—write down every sale, every positive review, every milestone, big or small. Seeing your achievements on paper is a powerful reminder of how far you’ve come. One of my coaches talks about "the gap" and "gain". Don't compare yourself to where you "think" you should be but instead look how far you've come. That will put you in "gain" with all the amazing progress you've done and how far you've come.
👉 Surround Yourself with Support: The most successful women don’t go at it alone. Find a community—other boutique owners, mentors, or fellow entrepreneurs—who uplift you and remind you of your strength when doubt creeps in. I've got you, girl! I'm trying to make it a regular thing to share with you insights I get from the amazing & uber successful entrepreneurs I get to sit in a room with.
